It’s always nice to work with a stone that’s a little different for an engagement ring. Don’t get me wrong, I love working with diamonds, but variety keeps things interesting and I am lucky to have customers who choose alternative gemstones as well, in this case a beautiful rainbow moonstone (and a couple of diamonds thrown in for good measure!)

This ring was made from 18ct recycled palladium white gold and features a large 7x5mm oval rainbow moonstone as well as two flush set 2mm white diamonds.

This customer contacted me with some concerns about allergic reactions to the gold as his partner had previously reacted to 9ct white gold. The 18ct recycled white gold I use is made up primarily of gold with some palladium and a little silver and I was very pleased to hear that the ring is being worn everyday without any allergic reaction!

To see the colours and characteristics of the different golds I use please see my Metals page.
